Ensuring that our community has the facilities it needs as a complete community where people can live, work, and play means keeping up with our infrastructure needs.

Since being elected Mayor, we have:

  • Forged a consensus on Council to break ground on the long-anticipated re-construction of the Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre which will include a new Silver Harbour Seniors Centre and new skate park.
  • Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Flicka Gymnastics for a new home at Mickey McDougall.
  • Opening of the Shipyards, Splash Park and outdoor Skating facility.
  • Opening of the new Museum.
  • Opening of Capilano University at the Shipyards.
  • Delivered a new, temporary skate park at Mahon.
  • Oversaw the construction and delivered a new Lawn Bowling Facility
  • Led a partnership between the city and non-profit agencies to start the rebuilding of the North Shore Neighbourhood House which will include the largest investment in non-market housing in a generation, as well as day and overnight respite care.
  • Initiated discussions with the Province of BC to underground Highway 1 at Lonsdale to create a major new park.
  • Exploring the potential of delivering a Harbourside Ocean Pool.
