Access to affordable and adequate housing is a right we all share. But we know not everyone in our community is well housed, and we know there is more work to do. That’s why I’m committed to continue partnering with stakeholders, senior levels of government, and others to deliver the range of housing options our community needs.

Since being elected Mayor we have:

  • Delivered new affordable housing, supportive housing, rental housing, and market housing.
  • Championed new home financing opportunities for first-time buyers such as rent-to-own homes.
  • Prioritized protecting renters from unfair renovictions by directing staff to report back on enhanced regulations and bylaws that are complementary to the Residential Tenancy Act.
  • Strengthened the City’s Tenant Relocation Policy.
  • Moved forward with the single largest investment in non-market housing in a generation on public lands.
  • Directed staff to explore how the City can deliver homes that are comfortable despite today’s climate context.
  • Convened North Shore Homelessness Action Initiative, an assembly of North Shore officials with a mutual commitment to enhance the coordination and action to prevent and alleviate homelessness in our communities.
